i played 90% of halo games co op, and then local splitscreen slayer and capture the flag etc was amazing too. Sadly, splitscreen wasn't included with the launch version of Halo: Reach on PC and hasn't been added so far.Nevertheless, this still gives players ways of playing the Halo: Reach, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary and Halo 2: Anniversary campaigns in co-op alongside a friend or as part of an entire squad of four.In order to do so, the designated host needs to first invite the other players to their game sessions.

and their was absolute outrage from the community when they released halo 5 on xbox one without it. but microsoft released gears of war 4 (or was it 5?) On Steam, you can invite others by right-clicking on their name and selecting the Invite to Lobby option. on pc and it has splitscreen.
I don't recall 4 player co-op being a thing in any of the campaigns, nor do i recall 2 player co-op on CE(Halo 1 was single player campaign if i recall only...) Halo CE was at least 2 player, split-screen at least, and if you are all on different consoles you can do 4 players.

CE and 2 will be 2 player online co-op I'd like a source please & Thank you! provide relevant advertising. and halo is famous for its local splitscreen, its what the game is all about. All games in Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be delivered over time, beginning with Halo: Reach and ending with Halo 4 later in 2020. (No on CE though, which is sad, it's my favorite Halo.)
Halo: Reach will also include Firefight, a survival mode for up to four players online or via LAN.
