About Us

Pend Oreille Farms was established in 1987 by husband and wife, Scott and Dawn Dempsey. Since 1987, Pend Oreille Farms has grown a lot. Starting with one horses and 5 acres of neglected land and buildings; Scott and Dawn sculpted it into what it is today.

The farm now houses 80+ animals ranging from cats, dogs, birds, fish, full size horses, zebra and miniature horses. Pend Oreille Farms has also grown in acreage, with over 35+ acres there is always enough green to go around. Pend Oreille Farms provides many services for the equestrian enthusiast.

Pend Oreille Farms is seperated into three main areas named ‘Pend Oreille Farms West’, ‘Pend Oreille Farms East’, and ‘Pend Oreille Farms North.’

The West farm is the home of Scott and Dawn and is where the farm started. The old fashioned large red barn is still in use to stall horses in the winter months or during foaling season but a newer, larger, metal barn was constructed on the front half of the property to provide a large indoor sand bottom arena and stalls line the South end of the building.

The East farm was just recently aquired and has undergone a complete ground up resto/cleaning. The East barn is equiped with living quarters in the loft that look over a large partially covered riding arena and round pen. The East side of the barn is lined with box stalls used for boarding. On the outside connected to the stalls are large covered runs that stretch from the building up into a wooded region of the pasture. All barbed wire fences have been removed and 8 strands of barbless now take the place of the where the barbed used to be.

The North Farm is the most recently aquired. It has a farms house and 3-4 outbuilings included a large old well bulit barn that looks as good as the day that it was made. Only a couple pastures at this time but they spread over 45 acres with lush green grass.

Camera surveillance systems are present in all barns to monitor horse activities, and for security purposes.
