You can also see that when they explore the other planet the initial explorer is found sleeping and it is awaken by them.Thanks.

From the time they were in the ranger first beaking through the clouds to the time they were landed in the water was about 55 seconds of screentime. If anything it felt like months...a year at most.Personally I wish the scene would have gone more like when the crew arrived at the Mars station in Mission to Mars.
